Super Sports Day (written by Annabel O’ Connell)

It is the 18/6/2014…Sports day. Yay!  The day is hot. I was late for school! I’ll tell you why in a minute. First we jumped some hurdles. Next we played basketball. It was great fun. Then we gave a few kicks to the ball for penalty shoot out. After that we did an obstacle course. When we finished this I ran inside to my classroom and grabbed the rice crispy buns! That’s why I was late for school! I was busy baking. Anyway, lastly we played tug-of-war. It was good fun. Just when I thought the day could not get any better Miss Hogan came into our classroom with ice pops for everyone! BEST SPORTS DAY EVER!

Our Awesome Sports Day (written by Robert Power)

Our awesome sports day was really hot! The first game we played was hurdles where you sprint and jump over the hurdles. The second game we played was basketball and our team drew with Dooley’s team with 31 hoops! We then played penalty shoot out and I did well. Next we did an obstacle course and our team won 2 rounds. The team members were Jimmy Maher, Conor Holden, Evin McCormack, Podge Kirwan, Dooley and me (Robert Power!). Finally we played tug-of-war. The boys won! Woop! I had a great sports day.

On Wednesday 18th of June, we had our sports day. It started at 10 o’ clock. We all had lots of suncream on us because it was very sunny. The first game we played was hurdles. We had to jump over some hurdles, run up to a cone and back to our team. Then we did basketball shots from the free throw line. Next we had penalty shoot out. After that we did an obstacle course and a tug-of-war. The boys won (Noooo!) Then we went inside and did some work (Oh so hard!) Miss Tyrrell said that she had a surprise for us!. Then came a knock on the door. Could it be our surprise?! It was our surprise….ICE-POPS! YAY! There were two extra ice-pops. Ms Tyrrell raffled them and I won one. Yes! It was time to go home and Ms Tyrrell said that we had no homework so I went outside and played all evening. Thanks Ms Tyrrell. You’re the best!
