The Portlaoise Soccer Game

(Written by Liam Mooney)

It was a bright Tuesday morning. The school’s soccer team was ready and pumped up for the game. The bus that was taking us to the match came at twenty to nine and we set off on our journey at half past nine. On the bus the boys were having a bit of a laugh and listening to some tunes but we were all focusing and preparing for the matches ahead. When we got there we had some luche, got our bags and went into the changing rooms. After changing into our training gear we went down to the pitch and waited until it was our turn to play. When it was our turn to play, three of our players went out onto the pitch with five substitutes and two replacements in case any of our players were injured.

In our first match, we sadly lost three/two but in our second match we came back with an astounding victory and finally in our final match the opposing team were quite temperamental but we defeated them with a score of seven/three to Thomastown!

An opposing team had beaten us to the final so we packed up our bags and headed home. On the way we went to Centra, got some treats and a bag of crisps and headed back to school.
