Under 13 Cumann na mBunscoil Handball

Under 11 Cumann na mBunscoil A Handball Champions!!!

Well done to our Under 11 Cumann na mBunscoil A champions Aoibhe Ryan, Katie Jordan, Eanna O’Keefe and Alex Begley who played at O’ Loughlin’s GAA today, January 23rd. They did our school proud.


Christmas at St Mary’s 2016

December was an incredibly busy month at St Mary’s with children and teachers doing Christmas art, practicing and performing poems, plays and Christmas carols for other classes and families. The children also had their annual visit to St Columba’s to sing and play Christmas carols for the residents. We even had a surprise visit from Santa, as he heard our pupils had been so well

Halloween, 2016

St. Mary’s was a very spooky school this Halloween. The school, which is usually full of lovely, friendly children, was instead full of witches, vampires, zombies and ghosts. There were a few super heroes in the mix!!! Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween…. [Show as slideshow]


The Parents’ Association Raffle

Oceanic’s Surfing School Trip, Trámore June 2016

Ms Tyrrell’s and Ms Murphy’s 3rd class had a great school trip surfing in Trámore, despite the awful weather conditions!  The staff at Oceanics could not have been more helpful. Cake Sale Success, 2016

The 2016 Cake Sale was a big hit. There were so many fun things to do. Out on the field you could soak Ellie with wet sponges for a small fee. There were hurling and handball targets, shoot at a target, an obstacle course and pony rides. There were go-karts to race around the roundabout, games such as ‘Guess the Teacher’, ‘Pin the Nose

GAA Go Games at Dunmore Pitch, June 2016

  Ms Murphy’s and Ms Tyrrell’s 3rd class participated in GAA Go Games at the pitch in Dunmore on June 2nd. Children from schools in Mullinavat and Ballyhale also attended on the day. 4th Class Fashion Show Through the Ages, April 2016

Ms O’ Connor’s 4th class put on a fantastic fashion show exhibiting fashion down through the ages. The children wore clothing from the Roman era, the medieval period,  the 1920’s, the 1950’s, the hippy 60’s and the colourful 80’s. Check out the photos below. St Mary’s Proclamation Day, March 15th 2016

As part of the Ireland 2016 commemorative programme, the Department of Education and Skills provided time for schools to commemorate and reflect upon the events of 100 years ago.   Some of our events on Proclamation Day included song singing and musical instrumentals.
