Congratulations to all the members of St Mary’s N.S. choir who performed alongside the Three Tenors at the Watergate Theater on Saturday night. What an OUTSTANDING performance! ‘Journeys’ the book is about the journey our ‘Per Cent for Art’ stone made from the quarry, where a 7 tonne block of Kilkenny limestone was removed from the quarry bed, and was taken to McKeon Stoneyard in Stradbally, Co. After many years of blood, sweat and tears, we are finally ready to reinstate the swimming area at Thomastown Weir. Thomastown Community River Trust (TCRT) will be holding a final clear up of the site on Thursday 2nd October from 9.00 am so please come along and help if you can (bring garden tools, strimmers etc!). The junior infants had a very busy year with lots of important visitors – the garda, the army, the postman and even the Easter Bunny! The children had sports, an egg hunt, a picnic and a cake sale in school. They also travelled to Rancho Reilly’s Farm in May. A great time was had by all.
Well done to all the boys and girls in Ms Troy’s and Ms Moore’s 2nd Class who made their First Holy Communion last month. We were all very proud of how well you prepared for this special day. Well done to all the teachers and children who worked hard and took part in Christmas plays this year, especially the Junior Infants in Room 1, 2 and 3, who took to the stage for their very first performance. Everybody did a SUPER job!
